Miu Miu is turning all the It girls into hot scholars, and we are here for it. As the latest star to rep the brand’s Ivy League-meets-girlhood aesthetic, Doechii stepped out to the iHeartRadio Music Awards in a fit that left a lot to unpack.
Up top, the rapper wore a bulky varsity jacket featuring panels of cozy gray fabric, silky brown fabric, and ribbed stripes in maroon and yellow at the sleeves. Rather than layer it over a shirt (boring!), she wore a silky white bra as her top.
For bottoms, the Grammy winner went for a Miu Miu favorite: the pleated skirt. This one was navy and went down past her knees. For her footwear, Doechii took a style cue from the fashion house’s runways, pairing her strappy burgundy kitten heels with gray ballerina leg warmers.
The “Alter Ego” singer accessorized the collegiate look with not one bag, but two: Miu Miu’s Arcadie leather bag in “cognac,” and its micro mini-me, which was attached to the larger bag’s handle. Finally, she layered on the diamonds—on her ears, her neck, her wrists, and her fingers. And don’t forget her dangerously-pointy black manicure.
Doechii’s appearance at the Los Angeles award show came soon after the rapper’s return from Paris, where she attended Fashion Week and delivered a string of jaw-dropping looks—from a sweeping sunflower-yellow ball gown to an asymmetrical checkered fit—proving her sartorial versatility.
She may not stick to a single style, but when it comes to dressing, Doechii takes risks.
