Many Disney World fans shared their thoughts on the closure on social media, with one writing in reaction to the news, “stop i’m f–king sobbing.”
“Not me tearing up at this i love the muppets so much,” said another as the theme park account Critter Club HQ shared photos and videos from the eventful final day, including a clip of the late Jim Henson‘s daughter, Heather, being a member of the audience for the final showing ever.
Muppet*Vision 3D is now officially closed after 34 years of operation. It originally opened on May 16th, 1991.

Other fans shared their earnest reactions in the comments, writing, “I’ve held it together all day but this is what broke me,” “crying in my car after work rn wtf,” and “Goodbye, Muppet*Vision 3D. I will miss you terribly! And oh wow, what a final guest to have…”
Henson passed away in 1990 before the attraction even premiered in the park. Before his death, there was a plan for a whole Muppets-themed section of the park, but the plans fell apart after he passed away.
Thankfully for fans of the Muppets, they aren’t disappearing from Disney World and Hollywood Studios, as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is getting a full rework in 2026 to feature the Muppets, and in particular the Muppet rock group the Electric Mayhem.
