DC Studios’ James Gunn Reacts to Trisha Paytas Naming Her Baby Son Aquaman, Asks If He’ll Get ‘Made Fun of’ in School

Just a few days after welcoming her baby boy Aquaman Moses, influencer Trisha Paytas is getting a shoutout from none other than the co-CEO of DC Studios.

Appearing at San Diego Comic Con on Sunday, July 27, James Gunn was asked about Paytas naming her son after the DC Comics water-based superhero Aquaman. “I saw that, yes,” Gunn told Entertainment Tonight.

“I think that’s cool. I mean, I hope he does okay in school. I had a hard time with the last name Gunn — Tommy gun, BB gun, ray gun, I’m like, ‘Okay, we get it,’ ” he continued.

However, Gunn went on to express concern for Paytas’ baby son and asked if he was planning on going by another name.

“Is his middle name Gary or something? Are they going to call him AQ? What are they going to call him?” asked the filmmaker. “Won’t he get made fun of in school? Do kids make fun of kids anymore?”

During a July 22 episode of her podcast Just Trish, Paytas shared that she named her newborn son Aquaman Moses and explained how she and husband Moses Hacmon came to pick the moniker.

“We watched three movies to really solidify this name, and I feel like if people have been watching me for a while — and by the way, the people who guessed they knew, they were like ‘this makes the most sense,’ ” Paytas said, adding that she was “shocked” more people didn’t guess the name because it relates so much to her and Hacmon.

“And, I know it was the right name because when we went to the doctor for a follow-up last week — it was a different doctor than our doctor — and they had this poster in their doctor’s office, it was crazy,” she continued. “If you know me for any amount of time, and it’s also Moses because he had this in his water museum, it is Aquaman!”

The mom of three went on to share that she felt like she always had a connection to the Aquaman comic book character and loves the Justice League movies. She also shared that other signs made this name the perfect choice for her, including her son being born with blonde hair and him being the only one of her children born with no liquid in his lungs.

Back in March, Paytas shared that she was pregnant and expecting her third baby this summer, revealing the exciting news on an episode of her podcast.

In the caption of her video on YouTube, Paytas wrote, “Oops, she did it again! Trisha is PREGNANT with baby number three! Trish and Moses finally spill all the details after keeping their pregnancy a secret for months.”

During the podcast, Paytas shared with her co-host that she was pregnant and expecting her third baby in July.
