Fan Favorite Teases Possible Return to ‘The Bold & the Beautiful’ originally appeared on Parade.
Matthew Atkinson’s latest Instagram post has fans wondering if Thomas Forrester is finally returning to The Bold & the Beautiful.
Thomas Forrester left Los Angeles over a year ago, and when he did, his portrayer, Matthew Atkinson, left The Bold & the Beautiful. While no official announcement of his departure was made by the show or the actor, there were clues that his run had come to an end aside from him not being onscreen.
In November, 4 months after his last appearance, Atkinson removed all reference to the show from his Instagram bio and in December, when the show rolled out their new opening, Atkinson was conspicuously absent from it while every other contract actor appears.
Since his last airdate, July 11, 2024, fans haven’t stopped calling for Atkinson’s return, and if his latest Instagram post is any indication, their calls have been answered.
While Atkinson didn’t come out and say he was returning, he did post a video of himself playing cornhole on the lot where Bold is produced, with the show’s sign prominent in the background. He captioned the video “Second time’s a charm.” This could be refering to his missed toss before hitting the opening but it could also be refering to a return to Bold.

Atkinson joined The Bold & the Beautiful as Thomas Forrester in 2019. He welcomed a son with his wife, Brytnee Ratledge, in the fall of 2024.
