“This song is for us,” the singer added in her post on Monday, while telling her fans, “Trust yourself. Be yourself. You’ve always been the girl in the mirror…”
In the lyrics of the song, Yearwood sings “I like the way she laughs when she’s laughing
And I love the way she walks into a room
Shoulders back like she ain’t scared of nothing, down to her boots.”
The song continues, “But she just stopped me in my tracks
’cause I’ve never seen her look like that
She looked me right straight in the eyes
Said, ‘I don’t know why you’re surprised
The truth to me could not be any clearer You’ve always been the girl In the mirror.'”
“Needed this song more than ever 🩵,” one of Yearwood’s fans wrote in the comments on Instagram, while someone else added, “This song never fails to remind me its okay to be myself and teaches me to smile back at the reflection in The Mirror.”
