Anyone who’s ever been to a concert knows the common, universally accepted etiquette: don’t throw anything onto the stage! (Unless you’re asked to, of course.) Chris Brown fans, however, seem to be having a hard time coming to terms with that.
Back in June, the “Run It!” singer was performing at a show in Wales when somebody in the front appeared to splash their drink near the stage, appearing to skirt his pants. Brown kept the show going, continuing to sing and dance while gesturing for security to remove the offender between the song’s lines.
On August 7 and 8, Brown played two back-to-back shows in Detroit and must’ve gotten deja vu. At one of the shows, an audience member once again threw something at him while onstage. And this time, it wasn’t just water.

A close-up video of the moment was posted on Reddit. Brown is crooning into the microphone when a large object suddenly zooms past the right side of his face. Scary!
The “Under the Influence” singer seemed totally unfazed, ducking his head to the left while he continued to sing. If you were at the show and happened to look away for a second, you wouldn’t have even realized anything happened.
It’s unclear exactly what the object was as it only appears in the video for a split second, but it was undeniably large. It looks like it was kind of flimsy and soft, lacking any real structural integrity. Perhaps it was a sweatshirt? At least it wasn’t a toaster.
There seems to be a phenomenon lately of concertgoers throwing blunt objects at performers. In December, Grammy-winner Billie Eilish was famously hit in the face with a water bottle while she was in the middle of performing.
