Fans are buzzing with excitement as Al Roker’s upcoming project dropped an exciting update.
Behind his continued presence on the TODAY show and appearances on popular programs like The Great American Recipe as a special guest judge, the award-winning host is booked and busy with new ventures, among these is his animated STEM series, Weather Hunters.
Following the announcement earlier this year, fans of the 70-year-old are stunned to hear his voice as he portrays one of the main characters on the upcoming animated program.
PBS Kids released a captivating teaser spotlighting the Hunter family, a science-loving household that teams up to solve weather-related mysteries.
In addition to introducing the main characters, the network also announced the show’s premiere, set for next month.
“Here’s a sneak peek of our new show, Weather Hunters, that’s sure to bring a ray of sunshine to your day. Weather Hunters premieres on PBS KIDS on September 8,” the caption reads.

Over the comments, fans praised Roker for his charisma and signature voice.
“I love Al Roker. His voice is so soothing,” one wrote.

Besides the teaser and the release date, Weather Huntersalso revealed the characters named Lily, the 8-year-old daughter, whose parents are Dot, the producer of the family’s weathercasts, and Al, a professional TV weathercaster, played by the Emmy-winning host.
Aside from lending his voice, Roker’s company, Al Roker Entertainment (ARE), is the production company behind the show.
According to the host, he supports the upcoming program because it has been his passion to discuss and educate the next generation about the wonders of weather.
“With WEATHER HUNTERS, I’m thrilled to share that passion with a new generation, including my granddaughter, Sky, who reminds me every day of the importance of leaving a better planet for our kids,” he said, as noted by PBS.
