In the trailer, Evans’ “questionable cult leader” Priest Dean can be seen preaching from a podium and screaming “Submission, there is no higher service,” walking around in nothing but a satin covering while holding a gun that he just used to kill someone, and in bed with two women.

“Chris Evans taking jerk roles is my fave new category,” one fan quipped, as another declared, “Chris Evans as the hot priest is beyond the limits of my imagination.”

“Glad to see Chris Evans showing his range as a villain. He’s a cool hero, but I love seeing him embrace the dark side,” another stated.

The upcoming film reunites Qualley with filmmaker Ethan Coen following Drive-Away Dolls, and will also star Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Day, Billy Eichner, Lera Abova, Jacnier, Gabby Beans, Talia Ryder, Kristen Connolly, and Lena Hall, among others.

In the dark comedy, Qualley’s O’Donahue is “a small-town” lesbian private investigator who “delves into a series of strange deaths tied to a mysterious church.”

“Honey Don’t trailer’s out and my life suddenly has a meaning again,” one fan commented on X (formerly Twitter), as another noted, “I’ve seen enough. Honey Don’t is going on the must-watch list, too.”

Many also praised Qualley and Plaza as the “cinematic duo” they “needed.”

Others also dubbed it the “Summer of Chris Evans,” as the former Captain America is also set to star in Materialists from director Celine Song.
