Charli xcx is ready for her “360” at the 2025 Met Gala.
The Grammy winner, 32, stepped out on Monday, May 5, for the annual fashion-centered outing in New York City.
She turned heads wearing Ann Demeulemeester by Stefano Gallici. This marks the first time someone has worn this Belgian label on the Met Gala red carpet.
The singer honored the theme by wearing a black tailored suit jacket, and paired it with a sheer skirt and long trail, with over-the-knee boots. She channeled gothic glamour with her feathered hairpiece.

“I have always been a huge fan of Ann Demeulmeester — the house has always spoken to me and felt intrinsically related to my personal style,” Charli tells Vogue. “With tailoring being such a key element of this year’s theme and a core part of dandyism itself, I felt like they would be prepared to make something tailored to me but also something that referenced elements of dandyism.”
“I’ve always been drawn to how they’ve subverted elements of classic tailoring and how they’ve played with androgyny to create something fearless and unique.”
Vogue announced in October that Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour would be co-chairing the 2025 Met Gala, with LeBron James as honorary chair. The star-studded event is a fundraiser for The Costume Institute and spotlights the museum’s spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” also this year’s theme.
Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton shared that the exhibit, which is inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, explores “the Black dandy as both a concept and an identity signifier.”
The exhibit “presents a cultural and historical examination of Black style from the 18th century to the present through an exploration of the concept of dandyism,” according to a post on the museum’s Instagram.
The Met Gala’s dress code this year is “Tailored for You.” It is a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear and suiting. The host committee for the gala includes Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, Regina King, Spike Lee, Angel Reese, Doechii and Usher.

Charli xcx at 2024 Met Gala
Charli previously attended the Met Gala in 2019 and 2024. For her debut, the British pop star opted for a ruffled, lemon-colored gown. She paired the gown with a tassel belt and matching Jimmy Choo heels and complemented the look with some pink eyeliner.
Five years later, she stepped out at the Met in a custom Marni dress, crafted from T-shirts from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
Speaking to Vogue last year, she explained how “over time, T-shirts get more comfortable, they get more disheveled,” with her deciding to wear a gown underneath, which she called a “bodice situation, and we wanted the underpinnings to be very visible.”

Charli xcx’s latest stint at the benefit marks her first post-Brat Met Gala. Since the release of her latest LP, the musician has topped the charts, released a remix album in October (Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat), and continued her run of daring fashion — from a nipple-baring Grecian-style sleeveless gown at Variety‘s Hitmakers Brunch to a waist-cinching corset gown at the 67th Grammy Awards.
And, of course, there’s Charli’s many colorful Sweat Tour outfits.
For the Grammys look, the singer wore her hair long and loose as she complemented it with jewels from Bucherer Fine Jewellery.
Back in March, the “Club Classics” singer attended the 2025 BRIT Awards red carpet in a sheer black gown from Dilara Findikoglu’s fall 2025 collection.
She accessorized the look, which revealed black underwear and a nude corset underneath, with black heels and a dark hood.
