Will Friedle is going to be a grandfather!
The Boy Meets World star, 48, shared on his podcast Pod Meets World on Monday, May 19, that his stepdaughter Lexi is about to have her first baby. Although Friedle himself does not have any kids, the star is stepdad to his wife Susan’s daughter Lexi, 35.
Speaking with his co-podcast hosts Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong, as well as Boy Meets World‘s stage manager and director Lynn McCracken, the actor revealed that his stepdaughter is getting ready to give birth, which will make him a grandfather for the first time.
“Will’s about to be a grandfather,” Fishel said, prompting McCracken to say, “What?”

“I’m about to be a grandfather, actually,” Friedle confirms. “Yeah, my stepdaughter’s about to have my first grandchild, so I’m very happy. I’m ’bout to be a poppy!”
After Fishel says, “It’s going to be fun, I can’t wait,” Friedle adds, “It’s gonna be great. I can’t either.”
Friedle and his wife Susan tied the knot in September 2016. Lexi was 21 when the couple began dating.
In a previous episode of Pod Save World, Friedle shocked Fishel and Strong after he revealed that he doesn’t celebrate his wife Susan on Mother’s Day.
“Wait, did I have to get stuff for every month? I don’t get stuff for Sue on Mother’s Day, am I supposed to?” he said, after getting flustered when Fishel and Strong told him he should honor his wife on the holiday.
“Do you say Happy Mother’s Day?” Rider asked, with Friedle responding, “Probably not. I don’t know!”
“Wow,” Strong replied, and Fishel said, “Will! Did you not say ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ today? Do you celebrate the holiday for her at all?”
“I say it to my mom,” Friedle repeated, and Strong told him that he “should acknowledge” his wife on the day.
After witnessing his co-hosts shock, the podcaster tried to explain himself, noting that Martens’ daughter is older, and Fishel quickly retorted, “It doesn’t matter, she’s still a mother.”
Friedle then just admitted, “I know, I never think about it, I guess.”
