Bobby Lee is sharing why he thinks he was cut from And Just Like That… for season 3.
“Some of the woke elements of the show, they got rid of, and I think I was a part of that,” the 53-year-old comedian and podcaster told Entertainment Weekly at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 on July 24.
Lee starred as Jackie Nee, Carrie Bradshaw’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) podcast co-host, on the first and second seasons of the Sex and the City continuation series but has been absent from the current third season.
“I think Sara [Ramirez] didn’t come back and some other people,” Lee said. “They tried to put minorities in, and — I don’t know. I never saw the show.”

Lee was just one of the multiple departures ahead of And Just Like That… season 3, but his storyline concluded naturally on the show.
Ramirez departed the show in season 2 as Che Diaz, the love interest of Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon). Karen Pittman, who played Nya Wallace, Miranda’s Columbia Law School professor whom she befriended and later called her roommate, also left the show ahead of season 3.
In regards to Lee’s departure from the show, his storyline appeared to end naturally on the series. Carrie no longer hosts a podcast and has instead begun to focus on her writing career; she is now writing a 19th-century romance novel.
With this career change, Lee’s Jackie isn’t the only character to fall off the show due to that storyline concluding. Other colleagues she worked with on her podcast — including Franklyn Silvias (Ivan Hernandez) and Chloe (Ali Stroker) — are also no longer seen.
Lee reflected on his time on And Just Like That… in a positive light.
He called Parker “the nicest person I’ve ever met,” and credited her for making him feel “so at ease” on the project.
“I like everyone on there. It was fun. I never have bad blood with anybody. You know what I mean?” he said. “I am nice. I show up on time.”
Lee joked that he doesn’t “even know why they asked” him to join the show.
“I was super scared to do it. Because it wasn’t my brand, really. You know what I mean?” he said. “But I did it. I walked through the fear.”

Lee previously credited his And Just Like That… experience for helping him get sober.
“When I was using — this is the most horrifying thing — I was in Hawaii and I was blackout drunk and my agent calls and said, ‘They need you in New York,'” Lee recounted during an appearance on the Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson podcast in July 2023.
There had been a change in the show’s shooting schedule, and Lee was needed on set the next day.
During his flight, he said, “I took, like, 600 mg of THC and I got s—faced. I was in a blackout when I landed in New York.”
Lee said he was taken directly to the show’s set instead of his hotel when he landed and, when reading the script, “couldn’t even understand what the f— it was even saying.”
“I couldn’t even say the f—ing first line. It was a nightmare,” he recalled. “I remember saying to myself, ‘This is never going to happen again.’ I had to get sober.”
Lee admitted that experience and his not getting sober “could’ve been a career ender.”
