Bella Hadid is smitten!
The model, 28, opened up about her relationship with Adan Banuelos, a decorated Mexican-American equestrian, in a new cover interview with British Vogue.
Hadid shared the sweet story of how she met Banuelos, 37, after moving to Texas, where her mom Yolanda Hadid and her stepdad were building a house. The Orebella founder says she was struggling with chronic illness and “self-love issues,” prompting her to relocate.
“I’m with my stepdad,” she recalled in the interview, which was published on Tuesday, May 13. “We move cows, we’re on trail rides, and I’m starting to feel a little better, but just still dealing with my own stuff. Then, the next day, I meet my boyfriend.”
Hadid remembered first spotting Banuelos at a horse show. “I saw him walk in and it was like a gust of fresh air,” she said. “So he basically came in, walked into the exhibit hall, which is where we do all of the show stuff. I was getting a cowboy hat fitted. I just saw him and I was like that’s the… I always wanted the cowboy.”
The model added, “And he’s pretty gorgeous, let me tell you something.”

The model also revealed that Banuelos didn’t have any concept of her fame when they first met. She recalls him telling her, “’I never knew who you were until I saw your face for the first time.'”
“For me, that was such a breath of fresh air,” Hadid added.
Hadid went on to gush about Banuelos’ achievements, telling the outlet: “He’s the youngest Mexican cowboy to ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame,” adding, “He works for his family, he works for his customers and he works to hopefully build a home and a family one day.”
While she was coy about naming Banuelos in her future plans, Hadid shared that she “can’t wait to be a mom,” and that she always had a “vision of being a mother.”
