While Andrew Garfield skipped out on this year’s Met Gala, that doesn’t mean he missed other festivities surrounding fashion’s biggest night. The We Live in Time actor traded a deluxe suit for a scaled-back, casual look as he was spotted waiting for his new flame, Monica Barbaro, at the Mark Hotel in New York.
Wearing a black Muppets tee, sunglasses, a baseball cap, and opened blue button-up, Andrew smiled sweetly as he waited for Monica to emerge from designer Willy Chavarria’s after party in a transparent buttoned-up black dress with floral detailing.
Cosmopolitan and Seventeen editor Joanna Marquina was on the scene and exclusively captured a clip of these cuties, right here:

Monica, who starred alongside Timothée Chalamet in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown last year, made her Met Gala debut in a dapper black and white look from Dior. Andrew was notably absent from the coveted event, but Monica slayed her solo walk up the steps nonetheless.
According to ELLE, Andrew’s decision to skip the Met Gala “reflects the couple’s desire to keep their relationship relatively private.” His low-key appearance at The Mark was a rare public outing between the actors, who were previously sparked dating rumors as they watched a performance of Richard II at the Bridge Theatre on London’s West End on February 20.
A few days later, an insider confirmed the duo was dating with People, saying, “They’ve been really lowkey and have been spending time together quietly.”
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to take another moment to admire Monica’s after party look, TYSM:
