A staple of 1990s and early 2000s TV dared to bare on the Cannes Film Festival 2025 red carpet.

Teri Hatcher, 60, was all smiles at the premiere of The History of Sound in an emerald green dress that showed off her svelte figure with a high slit and a plunging neckline.

The History of Sound is a historical romantic drama starring Josh O’Connor and Paul Mescal as David and Lionel, respectively, two young men in the 1920s who travel the forests of Maine “collecting folk songs in order to preserve them for future generations,” according to the press release.

It continues, “Lionel drifts through Europe in his twenties and thirties, building a new life of profound success and happiness, and experiencing new loves. Yet he is constantly drawn back to memories of his brief time with David, trying to understand the impact of their relationship. Eventually, a reminder of their work together reveals why their connection rang loud.”

It co-stars Molly Price, Raphael Sbarge, Emma Canning and Hadley Robinson.

Hatcher became famous in the 1990s for her starring role on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman alongside Dean Cain. After a string of TV movies, Hatcher landed a leading role on Desperate Housewives in 2004 and starred on that for eight years alongside Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria, Nicolette Sheridan, Marcia Cross and Dana Delaney.

A follow-up series called Wisteria Lane is currently in development at Onxy Collective, from Kerri Washington’s production company.

The new series is described as “a fun, sexy, darkly comedic soap/mystery in the vein of Desperate Housewives, set among a group of five very different friends and sometimes frenemies who all live on a picture-perfect cul-de-sac called Wisteria Lane. On the surface, all the Wisteria neighbors are living the dream: beautiful homes, gorgeous families, shiny SUVs in the driveway. But behind those white-picket fences and smiling Insta posts are SECRETS,” according to Deadline, which first broke the news.
