It turns out, there is a part of Katy Perry that could very well be taken away from her.
The “Woman’s World” singer nearly suffered a major wardrobe malfunction while performing at the Las Vegas stop of her Lifetimes Tour on Saturday. While singing one of her signature hits, the 2010 breakup anthem “Part of Me,” Perry can be seen sprinting from one end of the massive T-Mobile Arena stage to the other in a fan-captured video. As she nears the mid-point, the clasp on her bejeweled brassiere appears to break.
“Oh s‑‑‑, my bra’s gonna come off,” Perry joked to the crowd. Her band continued to play an industrial-infused instrumental break in the song while Perry made her way among her stilt-teetering backup dancers. Eventually, Perry called to an assistant in the wings named Patrick to “put my bra back on,” but not before she busted a move, showing off the flapping straps of the defective article in question.
Showing off the professionalism that a decade-and-a-half of pop superstardom invariably instills, Perry dropped back into her choreography the second the bra was re-hooked and launched into the chorus of “Part of Me.”

Perry has been on tour performing the music from her seventh studio album, 143, since April. The Lifetimes Tour, named after the lead single from 143, kicked off in Mexico City and is set to snake through the United States, Canada, South America, and Europe, with brief stops in China and the United Arab Emirates, where it will conclude on December 7.

The “Last Friday Night” singer is no stranger to wardrobe malfunctions, having to duck below the judges’ panel and cover up with a pillow while taping an episode of American Idol last year.
“I need my top to stay on,” Perry joked in an Instagram video. “If it’s not fixed, this show is gonna get more than it wanted.”
Perry first joined Idol as a judge in its 16th season, in 2018. She announced she’d be vacating her seat alongside fellow recording artists Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan last February to focus on her own music.
In August, Idol season 4 winner Carrie Underwood was announced as a new judge of the singing competition series.
