It’s a match made in the French Quarter.
Two actors who met on the set of The Originals have announced they are engaged. On May 14, Candice Kingposted the news of her engagement to co-star Steven Krueger to her Instagram, writing that this year might just be her best year yet.
“I think 38 just might be my favorite year yet 🎂 ♥️ A couple of weeks ago, @stevenakrueger gave me the best gift of all when he asked me to marry him. The privilege of getting older is much sweeter knowing I get to share it with you, Steven. Thank you for asking me to dance through life with you. And thank you to everyone for the kind birthday wishes,” wrote King.

The two appeared together on the final season of The Originals. Krueger was recurring in the first four seasons and then became a series regular in season 5. He played Josh Rosza, a college student in New Orleans who was turned into a vampire. King was a Vampire Diaries crossover character —she starred as Caroline Forbes for the entire run of The Vampire Diaries before joining The Originals in its final season. She also appeared on The Originals spinoff Legacies.
Since the Vampire Diaries universe ended, King will next be appearing in the psychological thriller We Were Liars, which debuts June 18 on Amazon, while Krueger has been starring on the Showtime thriller Yellowjackets, which just wrapped its third season.
King began her career as Candice Accola, then changed her name when she married musician Joe King of The Fray in 2014 after two years of dating. The Fray singer brought two daughters into the relationship from a previous marriage, then he and King had two daughters together, Florence, 9, and Josephine, 4. In 2022, Accola filed for divorce. In December 2023, Accola King posted a video montage of the year to Instagram, and eagle-eyed fans saw her kiss Krueger, thus, they were Instagram official.
