A woman says that her best friend is “not talking” to her after she shared photos of her wedding on Instagram
The woman, who detailed her story on the U.K.-based community site Mumsnet.com, admits that the friend had requested that no pictures be shared to social media — but she had assumed it only pertained to the “ceremony” portion of the day

A woman says her best friend “doesn’t think she will forgive” her after she posted photos from her wedding on Instagram.
The woman detailed her experience on the U.K.-based community site Mumsnet.com, a place where women can go to seek advice from other women. In her post, entitled, “Friend not talking to me because I shared a photo from her wedding,” the woman wrote that she attended her best friend’s wedding “a few weeks ago.”
She explained that there was an official announcement before the ceremony requesting that no photos be shared to social media — but that she assumed this “related solely to the ceremony.”
“The day after, I posted some photos to Instagram which were mainly of me and my [partner], with one of them of myself and my friend,” she said, adding that the photos she shared were taken “later that evening.”

The woman shared that her best friend messaged her that day and asked her to take the photos down, telling her “she didn’t want any photos posted from the day.”
The original poster said she immediately removed the photos, but she later learned from another friend that her best friend “was really upset” with her and told others that “it ruined her reveal of the day/dress with professional photos.”

She added she reached out to her friend to apologize, telling her she was “horrified” that she had misunderstood the instructions.
“She replied to say she was still really upset and that I took away the reveal, which she’d only have one chance to do in her life, and she can’t believe I ignored her wishes,” the woman continued.
The woman’s friend has not spoken to her since, and she has since learned from another friend that “she doesn’t think she will forgive me.”

“AIBU [am I being unreasonable] to think my friend is now overreacting or is her reaction proportionate?” the woman asked at the end of her post.
The vast majority of post commenters said that they thought the bride was overreacting at best — and is being a bridezilla at worst.
“She’s got major Main Character Syndrome. Hopefully she’ll get a bit of perspective once she’s been away [on her honeymoon] and realized the world continued turning,” said one person.
“As if people care,” someone else wrote, adding, “Total bridezilla. Presumably, the most important people in her life were at the wedding and saw her dress. No one else gives a damn! YANBU [you are not being unreasonable].”

However, some people said they understood where the bride was coming from — and noted that the OP was technically in the wrong.
“You screwed up – she told everyone not to post on social media. I can’t believe anyone would consider posting a photo of the bride in her dress before she’s agreed you can,” said one person.
“She’s being over-dramatic about the whole ‘reveal’ thing, but you need to give her time to get over it,” they added.
