Dua Lipa is a woman of many talents, but her ability to make even the most basic of outfits look like high fashion is one of my favorites. Somehow, she always manages to make dressed-down look dialed-in.
As part of her monthly book read series, the “Houdini” singer posted a photo to Instagram looking effortlessly cool in a boxy black Willy Chavarria T-shirt and black slacks. A casual reading fit? On its own, sure. But this is Lipa after all.
Breaking apart the monochrome look, she paired her outfit with a flashy vintage Chrome Hearts belt with gold hardware. She added another touch of the bold metallic on her ears courtesy of large triangular-shaped earrings.
Naturally, the look came with a smart-girl accessory too: her book of the month was Still Born by Guadalupe Nettel, translated by Rosalind Harvey. Hot girls are literary girls.
Her chill outfit is a major turn away from her Monday night ensemble earlier this week, when she made her Met Gala debut with Callum Turner.
For the annual glamorous occasion, she was a Chanel vision in a flapper-esque black dress with a transparent halter neck and delicate feathered skirt. She went all in with layers of diamonds adorning her ears and neck, and even accessorized with transparent black opera gloves dotted with crystals.
As for Turner, he complemented Lipa’s outfit in a dapper black double-breasted suit on top of a silky white shirt. Following in his girlfriend’s footsteps, he wore a patterned ivory Chanel tie.
