Lady Gaga took to Instagram on Sunday, May 4 to address fans after her record-breaking May 3 show in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was nearly derailed by a bomb plot by two suspects who were arrested by police.
While she did not address the potential threat that was thwarted by police in Rio de Janeiro, Gaga did acknowledge the crowd and thanked Brazilian fans.

“Nothing could prepare me for the feeling I had during last night’s show—the absolute pride and joy I felt singing for the people of Brazil. The sight of the crowd during my opening songs took my breath away,” she wrote in the post that was accompanied by a carousel of photos and video.
The still photos, shot by noted photographer Kevin Mazur, captured the “Poker Face” singer wearing a green dress with blue and gold accents, highlighting the colors of the Brazilian flag. In another photo, she’s wearing a shocking red dress. The carousel wraps with video of the enormous crowd that turned out for the show.
“Your heart shines so bright, your culture is so vibrant and special, I hope you know how grateful I am to have shared this historical moment with you. An estimated 2.5 million people came to see me sing, the biggest crowd for any woman in history. I wish I could share this feeling with the whole world—I know I can’t, but I can say this—if you lose your way, you can find your way back if you believe in yourself and work hard. You can give yourself dignity by rehearsing your passion and your craft, pushing yourself to new heights— you can lift yourself up even if it takes some time,” Gaga added in her post.
Rio de Janeiro’s state police said in a statement that the two suspects arrested “were recruiting participants, including minors, to carry out coordinated attacks using improvised explosives and Molotov cocktails,” according to CBS News.
