The Another Simple Favor press tour continues, and so does Blake Lively’s inventive style streak.
On Tuesday evening, the actor and her costar, Anna Kendrick, stopped by a special screening of their upcoming thriller held at the Ham Yard Hotel in London. On the carpet, the Gossip Girl alum delivered a striking look that was part Matrix, part Western festival wear (we are in the midst of Coachella, after all).
The highlight of the outfit was Lively’s coat (the piece actually made up 90 percent of the fit). It was a long black double-breasted leather coat with a plunging V neckline. While the top half of the piece was pretty standard, the bottom, front half was composed entirely of cascading leather fringe, which acted as a skirt.
Wearing the statement coat as a dress, Lively accessorized only with black leather boots, silver hoop earrings, and several sculptural silver rings. She had on bronzy glam, and her blonde Serena van der Woodsen hair was styled in voluminous, side-parted waves.
The look was a big diversion from the preppy Chanel ensemble Lively wore just hours earlier, for a photo call for her movie. That one consisted of a black knitted jacket with butter-yellow accents and ornate golden buttons, plus a leather miniskirt. To finish the monochrome fit, Lively slipped into a pair of black leather knee-high boots with platform soles and stiletto heels, and carried a quilted leather Chanel crossbody bag in the shape of a camera. She added on some shine via stacks of gold jewelry.
