Christopher Briney’s rise to fame has been swift. His breakout role as Conrad Fisher in Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty helped turn him from a newcomer on the scene into one of the most talked-about names in Hollywood. Adapted from Jenny Han’s bestselling novels, the series debuted in 2022 and quickly became a favorite, securing Briney and his co-stars a place in the cultural zeitgeist.
Since then, he has appeared in new projects, including a role in Mean Girls that only cemented his status as a screen heartthrob. Away from film sets, though, Briney prefers to keep his personal life out of the public eye, particularly his relationship with longtime girlfriend Isabel Machado.

Isabel Machado (2021-present)
Christopher Briney has been in a relationship with fellow actress Isabel Machado since June 2021, but their story began years earlier at Pace University. Both graduated in the summer of 2020 after meeting as students and quickly becoming friends. “We were friends first,” Briney told People. “We went to college together and we lived together. We knew that we could do it.”
The two even shared the screen during their college years. In a 2019 student film, Briney promoted the project on Instagram with a playful caption: “Find out why Isabel and I are fighting and Dan and I are kissing at the link in my bio!!”
Looking back, Briney says their romance might have shocked their younger selves. “Eighteen-year-old us would be so confused if they just looked into a window,” he joked to Teen Vogue. “They’d be like, ‘Wait, wait, wait, wait! What’s going on? What are you guys doing? Stop it!’ But it feels right. Your friends know you, and you know them.”
In February 2025, Briney marked her 27th birthday on Instagram with a sweet tribute. “Thank you for always walking by my side, you make me the luckiest boy in the world.”
