Jack Osbourne has broken his silence two weeks after the death of his father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.

Jack, 39, shared an emotional tribute to his dad on Instagram late Tuesday night, along with a video montage of moments with Ozzy throughout his entire life.

“I haven’t really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father,” Jack wrote. “My heart has hurt too much. I’m gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches. He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him ‘Dad.'”

Jack went on to say that his heart was “full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude.”

“I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing,” he wrote. “I think this quote best describes my father. Hunter S. Thompson once said: ‘Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body… but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, ‘Wow! What a ride!” That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully.”

Jack concluded his tribute with a simple yet heartfelt “I love you dad.”

The former Black Sabbath frontman died July 22, at 76. The cause of death was cardiac arrest and “acute myocardial infarction,” with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction listed as “joint causes,” according to his death certificate.

Ozzy’s friends and loved ones laid the Prince of Darkness to rest in an emotional funeral procession in Birmingham, England, on July 30, which was livestreamed as it arrived on Broad Street, where the Black Sabbath Bridge and bench monuments were transformed into public memorials for the heavy metal pioneer.

His wife, Sharon Osbourne, as well as their children Kelly Osbourne and Jack, appeared visibly emotional as they exited a vehicle behind the hearse and left flowers alongside all the bouquets, balloons, photos, letters, and gifts left at the memorial.

Kelly shared her own tribute to her father a week after the funeral.

“I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough… but from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” she wrote in her Instagram Stories. “The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life.”

She added that she would “not be OK for a while,” but the knowledge that her family was “not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind. Thank you for being there. I love you all so much.”
