’70s Rock Legend ‘Expected to Make a Full Recovery’ After Serious Health Scare originally appeared on Parade.
Late last month, Cici Edmunds, the wife ofDave Edmunds, took to Facebook to share that the “I Hear You Knockin’” singer had suffered “major cardiac arrest.”
Her post went on to say Dave Edmunds “died in my arms while I desperately tried to keep him alive while trying to clear his airways from all of the fluids that come out of a human beings body when we pass away.”

That part of the post led some to believe that Edmunds, 81, had died, but Cici later added that her nurse was able to perform CPR on Edmunds, who was taken to a hospital and put in intensive care.
Now, Edmunds is on the road to recovery, according to a well-known friend.
Carlene Carter, who collaborated with Edmunds on the 1980 duet “Baby Ride Easy,” took to her official Facebook account on Aug. 4 to report “some great news we all have been waiting for.” Over a photo of the two performing together, text reads: “Dave is expected to make a full recovery and be out of the hospital soon!”
Carter was once married to Edmunds’ former bandmate in Rockpile, Nick Lowe, and the two have been close friends for decades.
Carter’s post was shared by Cici Edmunds. “Bless you sweet beautiful Carlene for sharing the positive news regarding my amazing husbands miraculous recovery. Sending you much love and light your way always. Cici Edmunds,” she wrote.

Fans were happy to hear the news and shared their thoughts in the comments.
“Fabulous!! Great to hear that Dave will recover,” wrote one.
“Wishing both Cici and Dave the best of health, but is this news genuine? I’d imagine Cici is right by Dave’s side, & doesn’t Carlene live in America?” another added.
“Wow, what great news from Dave! Now it’s your turn, dear Cici! Best wishes for a speedy recovery to both of you!” wrote a third.
