The buzz around Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas’ rumored romance is only getting louder.
On July 26, the Mission: Impossible star and the Oscar-nominated actress were photographed holding hands while in Vermont.
The outing seemingly confirmed months of speculation about the actors’ relationship status. The two first sparked dating rumors in February 2025, when they were photographed during a night out in London. Since then, they’ve been seen together multiple times, including on de Armas’ birthday.
On July 18, a source exclusively told PEOPLE that the actors share a “special work relationship” and are preparing to film a new supernatural ocean thriller titled Deeper.
“Tom is crazy hardworking, and she’s very excited to work with him. She calls it an opportunity of a lifetime,” the insider added. “Tom is an incredible mentor to Ana. She has nothing but amazing things to say about him.”
Reps for Cruise and de Armas have not responded to requests for comment from PEOPLE about their relationship.

In February 2025, Cruise and de Armas were spotted having dinner together in London, per the Daily Mail. They were photographed chatting with fans and posing for photos before they hopped into a taxi together.
Though the outing prompted speculation that the two were dating, a source told PEOPLE at the time that the dinner was purely professional. The insider said that both Cruise and de Armas were accompanied by their agents and discussed “potential collaborations down the line.”
The source added that they “appeared to have no romantic connection, just friends.”

After their first outing, Cruise and de Armas were seen together again in London in March 2025 — only this time they arrived in true action hero style on a helicopter. However, a source later told PEOPLE that the meeting was again about their upcoming project and that director Doug Liman joined them.
Cruise and de Armas took another helicopter ride in April 2025, landing in London from Madrid. This time, the actress brought along her two dogs, Elvis and Salsa. Liman also joined.
The following day, the pair were spotted taking a walk through a park on de Armas’ 37th birthday. A few days later, in May, they were seen leaving a party together for David Beckham’s 50th birthday in Notting Hill, in photos shared by the Daily Mail.
July 2025 was another busy month for Cruise and de Armas — they were seen yachting in Spain, attending an Oasis concert at London’s Wembley Stadium and holding hands in Vermont.

At the New York City premiere of Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning in May 2025, Cruise complimented de Armas’ acting chops when speaking to multiple outlets. He told Extra that she was a “very, very talented” actress and voiced similar sentiments to Access Hollywood.
“Her ability is incredible,” Cruise said. “There’s an actress that has dramatic chops, someone who’s comedic, very, very talented. You see her in Ballerina … just a great actress.”
In an Instagram clip posted that same month, the actor said that he saw Ballerina and it “kicks a–.”
Weeks later, at the June 3 premiere of Ballerina, de Armas told Variety that Cruise’s support for the movie had been “unbelievable” and “really amazing.”
“But you know what, he supports every movie. He really wants the industry and cinema to go well and people going to the theaters,” de Armas said. “We’re working together, so he got to see Ballerina and he actually really liked it. He loved the John Wicks.”
“It is very special that someone like him is supporting [Ballerina],” she added. “It is really special in general to have other actors and people supporting each other. We can do well all together.”

In an April 2023 interview with USA Today, the actress praised Cruise for doing his own stunts in Mission: Impossible following the stuntwork she did in Ghosted.
“It’s demanding and painful and your body is hurting everywhere, but it’s also very rewarding as I saw myself getting better at it,” de Armas said, adding that she was “not at a Tom Cruise level yet.”
She continued, “But I can appreciate what he does 100% now, and I totally get why he does it. He’s so mind-blowing.”

In May 2025, the Knives Out actress confirmed that she was working on multiple projects with Cruise.
“We’re definitely working on a lot of things,” she said in an interview on Good Morning America. “Not just one but a few projects with Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie and, of course, Tom. And I’m so excited.”
Cruise and de Armas will begin filming the Liman-directed supernatural ocean thriller Deeper in August 2025. The film follows an astronaut who encounters a terrifying force while on a deep dive into a never-before-explored trench, per Deadline.
