‘Swamp People’ Fans Mourn Tragic Death as Cast Members Share Heartfelt Tributes originally appeared on Parade.

Swamp People star Junior Edwards is dead—and cast members of the History Channel series posted tributes as fans mourned the heartbreaking death.

On Saturday, July 26, Edwards’ grandson, “Little” Willie Edwards, announced the sad news on Facebook.

“Rest easy pawpaw,” he captioned the update. “I know your [sic] probably running your hoop nets or doing something crazy inside those pearly gates…you will be extremely missed pawpaw we love you more than anything!!! Until we meet again 🪽🙏.”

In the featured image, Junior was on a boat with his son, Willie Edwards (Little Willie’s dad). Folks in the comments showered the Edwards family with condolences.

One Facebook user wrote, “I’m so sorry to hear this.. praying for ya’ll and the family.”

Another shared, “R.I.P. Junior. My heart is with you and your family.”

Someone else echoed, “My sincere condolences…Though I never met Mr. Junior Edwards, I almost felt like I knew him through his time on Swamp People. He was a good, hard-working man, and we all know he had a heart of gold after that episode with the otter! RIP.”

Yet another fan commented, “I am so sorry to hear this. Such a devastating loss. Sending loving, healing prayers to you and your family. Rest in peace.”

Swamp People star Ashley “Deadeye” Jones also posted an Instagram tribute in the wake of Junior’s death.

“The world lost a legend! Mr Junior Edwards passed away!” she wrote. “Please be in prayer for the family! He was one of the greatest alligator hunters there is! He was real hardcore outdoorsman! I watched this man bring in MONSTER gators at Duffys Gas Station in Pierre Part LA. This was after a looooong day for both of us and you can tell it! Glad we took a second for a pic!”

Meanwhile, fellow Swamp People cast member, Ronnie Adams, shared, “Praying for the Edward’s in this time of need!!! Rest in peace Junior!!!” on Instagram.

As of writing, the Adams family has not shared a cause of death for Junior. He appeared on Swamp People from 2010 until 2015 as a regular cast member.
