Bad Bunny brought the comedy to Happy Gilmore 2, and the style to the film’s much awaited premiere.
Last night, the Puerto Rican superstar walked the red carpet at the New York City premiere of his new movie, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center. And posing with him was costar and comedy icon Adam Sandler.
For the evening, Sandler repped his signature uniform: Hawaiian shirt, basketball shorts, and running sneakers worn with long socks. And while Bunny took a style cue from his friend in his own pair of shorts, he made sure to give the Murder Mystery star’s uniform a high fashion spin.
Benito wore a pair of Valentino Bermuda shorts with the house’s sleek V pattern all over in cream and black. He paired them with a double-breasted navy and gray plaid jacket, also from the brand, that he layered over a crisp white dress shirt. But the best part of the fit? The strappy black square-toe ballet flats that the “NUEVAYoL” singer slipped into. The ballerina-style loafers hail from Dries Van Noten, and he styled them with slinky white socks scrunched up to his shins.
With any Bad Bunny outfit, the magic is in the details, and this time around, the artist accessorized his red-carpet fit with various little gems, including layers of gold chains with gold rings as pendants, a matching gold bracelet, and golden aviator sunglasses with caramel-tinted ombre lenses. He also tapped into the merch trend with a tan hat that read “I was onstage last night.”
Bunny, who has previously shown off his comedy skills on Saturday Night Live, takes on his first comedy movie role in Happy Gilmore 2. The film will be released on Netflix on July 25.
