Zoe Saldaña Wore Thom Browne to the Met Gala

3 Min Read

Zoe Saldaña arrived at the 2025 Met Gala wearing a sharply tailored black and white gown by Thom Browne. The actress, who won an Academy Award in March for her role as Rita Mora Castro in Emilia Perez, has starred in some of Hollywood’s most successful franchises, including Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek, and Avatar, the third installment of which will be released later this year.

Her gown featured elegant lines of white buttons that stretched from her neck to the floor and from her shoulders to her hands. The dramatically corseted look nodded to the evening’s “tailored for you” dress code. (Saldaña also wore Thom Browne earlier this year at the 2025 Santa Barbara film festival.) Her hair, a sleek bob, was done by RŌZ founder Mara Roszak. Her makeup artist was Vera Steimberg, and she also partnered with Hourglass Cosmetics for the look. The theme for the 2025 Met Gala is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

Saldaña walked her first Met Gala red carpet in 2006, when the theme was “AngloMania: Tradition and Transgression in British Fashion.” Last year, she wore a diaphanous Chloe dress, walking up the Met steps with the label’s designer, Chemena Kamali, as well as Emma Mackie, Sienna Miller, and Greta Gerwig (who made our list for the best dressed of the evening). In other years, Saldaña has worn 1970s-inspired Michael Kors glitter, a feathered ballgown, and her for her first year, tiered brown chiffon.
