Zendaya demonstrated how it’s done at the 2025 Met Gala.
The actress, 28, flawlessly executed the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme during the exclusive Monday, May 5, event at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
From the second she walked on the carpet, Zendaya demonstrated class and luxury with her perfectly tailored white suit and matching hat. She added a touch of color with red nail polish as she walked up the stairs in one of her most unexpected looks to date.
Prior to the 2025 Met Gala, speculation surfaced that Zendaya would be wearing Burberry to the event after news broke that her stylist, Law Roach, partnered with the brand to curate Burberry’s table for the evening.

“It is an honor to collaborate with Burberry,” Roach, 46, said in an April statement. “The Met Gala encourages creativity at the highest level, which is at the core of the British house. I have always admired [Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee’s] progressive design which champions an idea of modern Britishness.”
Ultimately, Zendaya chose to wear custom Louis Vuitton for the star-studded night.
Since her 2015 debut, Zendaya has been a standout at the Met Gala. Her most memorable looks from years past include her 2017 Dolce and Gabbana Alta Moda gown with its bright colors and tropical print, her 2018 armor-esque silver chainmail Atelier Versace dress and her 2019 Cinderella moment in a light-up pale blue Tommy Hilfiger ball gown inspired by the Disney princess.
Zendaya took her Met Gala expertise to a new level in 2024, when she made two trips down the red carpet while serving as the event’s cochair. First, she wowed in a dark green and blue one-shoulder gown by John Galliano for Maison Margiela. Then, after a quick change, she returned to the carpet in never-worn archival black dress by John Galliano for Givenchy, paired with a rose bouquet headpiece.

Although Zendaya’s red carpet prowess is well known at this point, she confessed in her May 2024 Vogue cover story that creating some of the most talked about fashion moments does not always come easy.
“When I was younger there was less pressure,” she told the outlet before revealing how the circumstances differ in her present life. “I got to get into a zone of being that part of myself, which is definitely not a thousand percent natural. She gets rusty.”
In addition to showing off her impeccable fashion taste, Zendaya also used a red carpet to share some major personal news earlier this year. While attending the 2025 Golden Globe Awards in January, she debuted a diamond ring on her left hand. Us Weekly subsequently confirmed that she and Tom Holland are engaged after going public with their romance in 2021.
