Zendaya is back at the Met Gala, and her look did not disappoint. The actress arrived solo, sans fiancé Tom Holland, wearing a tailored white suit in tribute to the “Superfine” theme. She accessorized with a wide-brimmed hat.
She also wasn’t joined by stylist Law Roach. “We are going to be on the Met Gala steps, yes, [but] separately this year,” Roach teased ahead of the evening. “That’s going to be really amazing. We’re doing our own thing this year, which is exciting.” (The pair have previously walked the Met Gala carpet together.)
The details of her outfit were key; Zendaya wore a Bulgari Serpenti on the back of her suit.
Zendaya also notably accessorized with her engagement ring, which she debuted at the Golden Globes earlier this year. Holland typically skips red carpet outings with her, explaining, “because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us.”
She and Holland are notoriously private. “Parts of my life, I accept, are going to be public,” she told Elle in September 2023. “I can’t not be a person and live my life and love the person I love. But also, I do have control over what I choose to share. It’s about protecting the peace and letting things be your own but also not being afraid to exist. You can’t hide. That’s not fun, either. I am navigating it more than ever now.”
Last year, Zendaya served as co-host for the “Garden of Time”-themed evening, and wore two red carpet looks: One by Maison Margiela, and a vintage 1996 gown by Givenchy.
She made her Met Gala debut back in 2015. “Going to the Met Ball was a night to remember, overwhelming but in the best kind of way,” she said of that first appearance.
