Even though Louise didn’t actually get to see Paytas on tour, “it turned out to be the best day of her life”
A woman was shocked when she was expecting to see Trisha Paytas — but saw her boyfriend down on one knee instead.
After Natalie Allison, 28, discovered that her sister’s boyfriend of two and a half years, Jake King, 26, was planning on popping the question, she knew she had to help him pull off the perfect proposal.
King told Natalie that he planned on proposing to Louise Allison, 26, on Saturday, April 26, in Chicago outside Lincoln Park Zoo. So, a few days before the engagement, Natalie looked online to see if there were any events that night in the area to “throw off” her younger sister. Luckily, her favorite content creator just so happened to be performing.

“It worked out in the best way possible because Trisha Paytas happened to be in Chicago that night,” Natalie tells PEOPLE. “I waited until a few days before to try to make it seem as realistic as possible, photoshopped a fake ticket and told her I bought tickets for both of us.”
Paytas is currently on “The Eras of Trish Tour,” in which she showcases the evolution of her career, from her early days on YouTube to her current gig as the Just Trish podcast host, through musical performances and heartfelt speeches. The influencer — who is pregnant with her third child — has upcoming stops in Oregon, Arizona, California, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Her Chicago show actually sold out quickly after tickets went on sale. Not knowing this, Louise didn’t question Natalie’s fake tickets. In the text conversation between the two women — screenshots of which have 1 million views on TikTok — Louise instantly reacted with excitement. She wrote “SHUT UP” repeatedly, in addition to “Oh my God” and “I can’t believe this is real life.”
“I knew she’d be excited, but I had no idea that she would be THIS excited,” Natalie tells PEOPLE. “She immediately told all of her friends and our family, who already knew about the engagement and had to act surprised.”

“When she invited her friends and they said ‘No,’ she said, ‘Why wouldn’t you want to go to Trisha Paytas? This is the opportunity of a lifetime. It’s going to be the best day of my life,’ ” Natalie recalls. “Little did she know it actually turned out to be the best day of her life!”
Natalie texted Louise that she “self-tanned for Trisha,” which convinced her to get dolled up for the special night too. It was also “the perfect excuse for her to get her nails done.”
“This is the best I’ve looked all year and it’s for f—— Trisha Paytas,” Louise texted her sister.
“She was completely caught off guard and the Trisha cover story made the whole day come to life so perfectly, with her having an excuse to dress up and get her nails done,” Natalie says.

Louise and Natalie “would always watch” Paytas’ internet videos together while growing up. The pair have been Paytas’ fans “for years” because they appreciate how she’s “unapologetically herself.”

“She’s entertaining, open and isn’t afraid to show all sides of her personality, which makes her so relatable and fun to watch,” Natalie says.
Mid-day on April 26, Natalie took Louise to lunch. Afterward, she told Louise that they were walking to their Uber, which would drive them to The Chicago Theatre. In reality, King was waiting at the end of the trail for her.
“What? We’re not going to Trisha?” Louise exclaimed in disbelief in a video taken moments after King proposed. While admiring her new ring, she added, “Are you kidding me?”

“She thought she was getting a fun night out, and instead she got one of the happiest surprises of her life, with all of her friends and family waiting for her afterward,” Natalie shares. “She was not disappointed, but now I definitely owe her tickets to see Trisha in another city.”
“Hopefully we make it to a Trisha show one of these days, or else we’ll have to get her to perform at the wedding to make it a true full-circle moment,” she adds.
