Harrowing footage captured at an Indian park shows a woman dangling from a ferris wheel.
The original video, posted on Instagram on Aug. 10, appears to show the woman after falling out of a ride vehicle. The woman grasps onto the bottom of a blue cabin as the wheel continues to spin. At the beginning of the clip, she is brought closer to the ground, but the ride quickly changed directions.
Out of the crowd, a heroic bystander emerged.
A man in a red shirt and white pants quickly climbed the metal bars of the ride and managed to get on top of the adjacent car. In a video obtained by PEOPLE, the man is seen grabbing onto the woman’s arm and supporting her as she slides into a pink cabin underneath her.
The woman then slips safely into the pink car below her.
According to the Associated Press, witnesses saw the woman lose her balance while on the ride at Meena Bazaar in Bhatapara, Chhattisgarh. The ride’s safety and regulatory compliance is currently under investigation, per the outlet.
