A Mumsnet user criticized her husband for not eating as healthy as she currently is during her weight-loss journey
“He laid on the sofa with his belly out, and it physically repulsed me,” the wife said of losing attraction to him
Other Mumsnet users took issue with her taking verbal jabs at him on the forum, describing her comments as “harsh”
A wife feels unsupported by her husband during her weight-loss journey.
The woman explained why she feels this way on community forum Mumsnet, where she asked other users to “tell me if I’m being awful.”
“I have lost [about 14 pounds] recently, but my husband is significantly much more overweight, and it really annoys me to see him still eating crisps, sweets and not caring,” she wrote of her husband.

“It’s been really hard going and I feel like I need some support and encouragement,” the wife said of what she needs from him. “I’m making healthy meals, but he just snacks afterwards.”
Because of the inaction, she confessed she is losing attraction.
“He laid on the sofa with his belly out, and it physically repulsed me,” she admitted. “Feels like he’s being deliberately unpleasant and unsupportive. Or should I just think it’s up to him if he wants to carry on being obese?”

In a Mumsnet poll under her post, 69 percent of the more than 400 voters as of May 8 selected the “You are being unreasonable” voting option.
Additionally, some readers took issue with her taking a verbal jab at him.
“The belly comment is a bit harsh,” one person commented. “I assume [you’re] hardly super model level yourself. I mean you can’t force someone to lose weight who doesn’t want to. It’s a mental and emotional battle to lose weight, and you have to be ready and actually want to do it. Did you plan to do it together? If not, maybe he’s okay with it at the moment.”
In response to the people criticizing her, the wife replied to the comments.
“We are both diabetic and doctors advise to both lose weight,” the wife said. “Yes, I guess I am being harsh. Think I was hoping he would join in and lose too. Sticking to a diet is so difficult. I’m no oil painting I know.”
