Why Taylor Swift Fans Think She’s Recovering From Plastic Surgery

Pop star Taylor Swift is no stranger to rumors that she’s gone under the knife before, although she’s never publicly admitted to them.

The rumors have popped back up again after a tumultuous start to 2025. Not only did she not pick up a single win at the Grammys despite six nominations, but her current boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, also faced a devastating loss in the 2025 Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Following a rough start to the year, a source told Us Weekly that the couple is “laying low” and stepping away from the spotlight for a few weeks.

“Taylor and Travis are taking it easy right now,” one source told the outlet. “They’ve been laying low in Kansas City.”

They did step away to go skiing in Park City for a bit, as a separate insider shared, “They’ve been traveling, spending precious time together and letting the rest of the world go for a bit.”

On Thursday, March 13, they were also spotted in New York City, dining with a group of people at Crane Club.

“Travis and four of his friends arrived,” a source shared. “Taylor didn’t arrive until 11 p.m. There were seven people there, including them. They all stayed until 3 a.m. The group were all laughing and having a great time.”

An eyewitness said that the couple was “very cute” together and that the NFL star had his arm wrapped around her the whole night.

Over on one Reddit board dedicated to the couple, one person shared a screencap of a tweet from Daily Mail Celebrity. The headline of the article read, “Taylor Swift is in hiding and concerned insiders say they know why.”

The original poster (OP) wrote, “Travis doesn’t let her” followed by, “Remember the outrage Swifties had on Joe for being private,” referring to her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, whom Swift dated for approximately six years.

Some fans thought that Swift was staying off the radar because she had some work done and was still recovering.

“This just feels like she’s trying to force the same narrative she had before for reputation Taylor’s version,” one fan speculated. “She’ll ‘disappear’ for a few months and then suddenly emerge to try and create ‘a moment.’”

“After having more work done,” another user shot back.

“I’m 90% positive she’s gotten some work done, and that’s truly why she’s hiding,” another netizen responded. “I think it’s a BBL this time.”

Another user made it clear that they would not like to see Swift get a Brazilian butt lift, writing, “I would f-cking screech. That would NOT work on her figure. To be fair, I don’t think it works on anyone’s, but definitely not on tall and thin.”

“It would be so obvious if she got that done, like that time she wore butt pads at this award show and the awkward pose makes me laugh,” sharing an image of when the Grammy winner attended the iHeart Radio Music Awards roughly ten years ago.

Other users wondered why Swift was no longer seen with her “Girl Squad” that made headlines around 2014. “I mean, does she have many friends? I doubt she’s hanging with the Chief WAGS if there are no cameras to capture it,” one user wrote. “Selena [Gomez] is probably busy with her new fiancé, I don’t think she spends any time with her ‘girl squad’ and she actively tried to distance herself from Ryan and Blake through ‘media articles.’”

Other users thought that Swift and Kelce were taking the time to lick their wounds before returning to the spotlight. “I’m hoping she’s realized that ‘things’ haven’t exactly been going great for them. Both professionally and visually,” one user wrote.
