While Kim Kardashian and Kylie and Kendall Jenner have been at the Met Gala almost every year since their debuts, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian have attended less frequently.
Kourtney and Khloé have only attended in 2022. This year, the two Kardashian sisters remained away from the festivities. Kim, Kendall, and Kylie all went.
Khloé and Kourtney haven’t made many public appearances this year outside of their show, The Kardashians. Khloé was last out at Hulu’s Get Real House on April 23.
And Kourtney’s last red carpet event was the postponed 2023 Emmys on Jan. 15, 2024.
[Given they are lower profile than their sisters Kylie, Kendall, and Kim, their absence from the 2025 Met Gala isn’t all too surprising.]
While both sisters are still busy, Khloé spoke to Bustle in December about why she is being more discerning about work in her forties.
“When I first started in this industry, people would be like, ‘Here’s X amount of money if you wear this sweater,’” she said. “And I was like, ‘You get paid to wear a sweater?!’ It was such a foreign concept to me, and I was so excited. But I don’t just want to promote something that I really don’t stand behind. I could be doing cash grabs all day long if I didn’t have a conscience. I could be on OnlyFans, I could be doing crazy things—but that’s not my thing.”
She also shared how she’s embracing a new decade of life. “When you’re young, you think 40 is so old, and now I’m like, ‘Wait—I feel so good!’” she admitted. “I am in the best shape of my life. I’m doing new career stuff. I’ve only been 40 for about six months, but it’s the absolute best. You don’t give a shit about some of the stuff you once did. Intentionally, at 39, I tried to close a lot of chapters. I called it shedding—shedding this decade of my 30s and this energy I wanted to leave behind. There are so many new things that I’m doing in my first year of 40 that I know for a fact my 40s and on are going to be fucking incredible.”
