Beyoncé was truly missed at the 2025 Met Gala!
The fashion icon, 43, was noticeably from the Met steps on Monday, May 5, in New York City, where the theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” However, her absence was for good reason.
Beyoncé likely missed the star-studded annual fashion event because of her Cowboy Carter tour, which kicked off at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., on April 28.
She has since played three of her five shows in the city. After a few days off, she is set to play two more shows through Friday, May 9, before taking her tour to Chicago. Subsequent stops include New Jersey, London, Paris and Houston.

Beyoncé is a staple at the Met Gala, where she has debuted several showstopping looks. The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer made her first appearance at the popular event in 2008 in a strapless pale-pink Armani Privé gown.
A few of her notable looks include a black Givenchy gown with fiery details for 2013’s Punk: Chaos to Culture theme and a completely sheer Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci custom-made gown in 2015 for the theme, China: Through the Looking Glass.
Beyoncé was last seen at the Met Gala in 2016, when the theme was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” For the occasion, she stuck with her Givenchy trend in a light pink Haute Couture latex gown. The mermaid-style dress featured puff sleeves and 2,000 pearl embellishments detailing around the bodice and bottom of the dress.
