Kid Cudi has sung about both love and heartbreak, but he is now on the “Pursuit of Happiness” with his fiancée, Lola Abecassis Sartore.

The rapper, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, debuted his relationship with Sartore when he announced their engagement on Instagram in April 2024.

“Life is wild, and right when I felt my future was uncertain, it became crystal clear with Lola,” he captioned the since-deleted post. “Happy Cud in full effect 😉🙏🏾.”

Before being engaged to Sartore, Cudi briefly dated Casandra “Cassie” Ventura while she was on a break from Sean “Diddy” Combs during their on-and-off relationship. Though Ventura and Cudi’s romance was short-lived, the rapper was called as a witness during Diddy’s ongoing sex trafficking trial, in which he recalled the mogul allegedly blowing up his car when he found out about their relationship.

She is a menswear designer

Sartore grew up surrounded by fashion, as her grandfather founded a shoe company that was passed down to her mother and sister, she told Hube Magazine in July 2024. Now a menswear designer, Sartore told the outlet that she “knew very early on that this was what I wanted to do: design and create.”

“I hesitated for a long time between architecture and fashion design,” she said. “My heart ended up choosing fashion; I’ve been around it since I was a kid, and it made more sense to me.”

Sartore studied at Atelier Chardon Savard, and told the outlet that while she originally thought she’d become a shoe designer, her time at the school led her to discover her “big appetite for menswear design.”

“I was obsessed with it and have never stopped since,” she said.

Per her LinkedIn, she graduated from the fashion design school in 2017.

She used to work at Louis Vuitton

After graduating from Atelier Chardon Savard, Sartore began her career at Louis Vuitton, where she worked under the direction of late fashion designer Virgil Abloh and later Pharrell Williams.

“I loved working with both of them and consider myself very lucky for that,” she told Hube Magazine, adding that Abloh was her “mentor.”

Sartore opened up to the outlet about the “many challenges” she faced while working there, including working on multiple collections simultaneously.

“We would work on five to six collections per season, 10 to 12 per year, all at the same time. It was definitely a brain workout,” she said. “But for a young designer, this was also a big chance to learn a lot, fast. In many luxury houses, they separate the teams to work on separate collections. So you can end up designing the same product category in the same collection for years.”

According to LinkedIn, she left Louis Vuitton in January 2024, and is currently head of design at fashion house ERL.

They announced their engagement in April 2024

In April 2024, Cudi debuted his relationship on social media while announcing that he and Sartore were engaged.

“My fiancée Lola and [I] at the Knuckles premiere,” he captioned the since-deleted post. “This amazing woman makes me so happy, she is everything to me and im so excited to share this news w u all 🥹.”

Sartore made an Instagram announcement of her own, writing, “I never thought I could love someone this much! So proud to call you my fiancé Scott ❤️‍. I can’t wait for you all to see this amazing man in the new Knuckles show!”

Since then, the pair have kept their relationship details relatively private. However, Sartore has shared a few photos of Cudi on her Instagram, sharing glimpses of the rapper’s performances and museum visits.

Cudi’s upcoming album is dedicated to Sartore

On May 9, after releasing his single “Neverland,” Cudi shared on Instagram that he would soon be releasing an album titled FREE.

In an interview with Hube Magazine a few months earlier, Cudi teased his upcoming album release, sharing that it’s “damn-near dedicated to [his] fiancée.”

“It felt like one of the easiest albums I’ve ever done because I’m in this place in my life where I’m happier than I’ve ever been, and the emotions were real,” he said. “I had a lot of things to say, a lot of things in my heart.”

The rapper added, “Every song is like a love song with me kind of confessing my love, so it was very, very fulfilling. I feel like a lot of people are going to hear this record and really be blown away by just how different it feels, but also how it still feels like Cudi.”

Cudi said he feels “blessed” to have her

After breaking his foot during his 2024 Coachella performance, Cudi underwent two surgeries — and felt grateful to have Sartore by his side.

In a since-deleted post, Cudi shared a photo of himself and Sartore in a hospital bed the day after the procedure, writing, “My ride or die holdin me down.😘😘.”

“My babe stayed all day and even slept at the hospital,” he wrote. “I am so blessed to have her yall. Thank u God 🥹🙏🏾💞.”

She commented, “Through sickness and through health! 💕💕💕.”

Cudi has opened up about wanting to get married and have more kids

During an August 2022 conversation with Esquire, Cudi opened up about being a “relationship man,” saying, “I want a girlfriend. I need to be with somebody.”

“Most people would think I enjoy being single, because I’m single a lot. But I’m a relationship man,” he said. “My goal is to find someone. Soon, hopefully. And get married and have more kids.”
