In Twilight, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) described Forks as a small town in Washington, “under a near constant cover of clouds and rain.” While the location exists in real life, the 2008 vampire romance was not filmed there.

Based on the blockbuster book by Stephenie Meyer, the original movie kicked off the popular film franchise The Twilight Saga, which ended in 2012.

Even though it’s about to be summer, get ready to avoid the sun like a vampire because all five movies: Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 hit Netflix on May 1.

Twilight was shot in the Pacific Northwest in only 44 days, and as director Catherine Hardwicke told Entertainment Weekly in November 2023, “You have to remember Twilight wasn’t Twilight at that time. It wasn’t like we were doing a Marvel movie. Nobody even thought it was going to be particularly successful.”

As fans sink their teeth into the supernatural love story of Bella and Edward (Robert Pattinson), they might be wondering where Twilight was shot.

Well, hold on tight, spider monkey — from Bella’s house and Carver Cafe to the field where the Cullens played some booming baseball — here are 10 locations where the Twilight movie was filmed.

Swan House

Location: St. Helens, Ore.

The house where Bella and her dad, Charlie (Billy Burke), live is located at 184 S. 6th St. in St. Helens, Ore. Fans can live out their Forks fantasy by staying at the home, now called the Twilight Swan House, a popular vacation rental that’s booked out months in advance.

The house has five bedrooms: Bella’s Room, The Lookout Room, Jacob’s Room, Renesmee’s Room and Charlie’s Room. According to the website, the Swan House has been “lovingly restored and the décor recreated to make it feel like you are walking straight into the movie” — which includes an Edward Cullen cardboard standee to watch over you while you sleep.

Forks High School

Location: Kalama, Wash., and Portland, Ore.

The high school where Bella and Edward felt instant chemistry in their biology class isn’t in Forks, and it’s actually two different buildings.

The exteriors for Forks High were filmed at Kalama High School, in Kalama, Wash., while the interior scenes were shot at Madison High School in Portland, Ore.

The Cullens cruising into the cafeteria, Bella and her friends attempting to sunbathe, Edward saving Bella’s life in the parking lot — there are so many memorable high school scenes, of course, one building couldn’t hold them all.

Carver Café

Location: Damascus, Ore.

In the original Twilight book, The Lodge is Charlie’s favorite place to eat, but the movie uses Carver Café, located in Damascus, Ore.

The local restaurant leans into the Twilight fandom, offering Bella’s favorite, Berry Cobbler, along with Twilight-themed merch and a guest book fans can sign when they “come get a bite.”

Twilighters can even check out the counter where author Meyer sat when she made a cameo in the 2008 movie.

La Push Beach

Location: Indian Beach in Ecola State Park, Ore.

Bella and her friend, Jacob (Taylor Lautner), hit the beach, but it’s the Northwest, so don’t expect fun in the sun. Characters were often spotted wearing jackets and wrapping themselves in blankets as they enjoyed a day on the Oregon shore.

In the film, it’s La Push Beach, where Jacob tells Bella the legend of the Cullen clan. In real life, La Push is Indian Beach, located in Oregon’s Ecola State Park, between Seaside and Cannon Beach.

Driving may be involved if you’re planning a trip to see it in person. Indian Beach is about an hour west of Portland, Ore., and over four hours south of the actual Forks, Wash.

Thunderbird and Whale bookstore

Location: St. Helens, Ore.

The Twilight series is a literary sensation, so it made sense that Bella sought answers in a textbook. In the movie, she visits the local bookstore Thunderbird and Whale, in Port Angeles, Wash., to learn more about Quileute legends.

Off-screen, though, the scene was filmed in a structure in St. Helens, Ore.

Forks Police Station

Location: Vernonia, Ore.

On their way home from Port Angeles, Bella and Edward stop at the Forks Police Station where Charlie works. But the building parking lot isn’t usually filled with cop cars, since it’s actually the Wauna Federal Credit Union in Vernonia, Ore.

Cullen House

Location: Portland, Ore.

The Cullens’ magnificently modern mansion is a private residence located on Quimby Street in Portland, Ore.

The vampire abode is officially known as the “Hoke House,” since it was owned by Nike footwear director John Hoke. It was designed by Skylab Architecture.

Fans who are unable to visit the Cullen House in person can build their own, thanks to Lego.

Vampire Baseball Game

Location: Portland, Ore.

Cue The Muse: The thunderous vampire baseball game is one of the most iconic scenes from Twilight.

The site of the baseball battle is known as the Shire, which is private property owned by the University of Oregon. Tours are usually offered, but according to the website, visits are “temporarily suspended” for “maintenance and restoration work.”

Mimi’s School of Dance

Location: Portland, Ore.

Bella’s childhood ballet school in Arizona is the setting for the climactic confrontation between Edward and James (Cam Gigandet).

At the time of filming, it was the Yale Union Laundry Building, in Portland, Ore. In July 2020, the Yale Union announced transfer of ownership of the land and building to the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation. It was later renamed to the Center for Native Arts and Cultures.

Prom Gazebo

Location: Corbett, Ore.

“Prom is an important rite of passage,” Edward told Bella at the end of Twilight. The View Point Inn in Corbett, Ore., was the setting of the romantic final scene, which featured the high school couple slow dancing in a lit gazebo.

Following the filming of Twilight, the building suffered two fires, one in 2009 and another in 2011. In summer 2025, the property is set to reopen as The Healing Order, a holistic wellness center.
