(NewsNation) — July is quickly approaching, which means Social Security benefit checks should be arriving soon.

For Social Security and Supplement Security Income recipients, July will be a normal month in terms of the payment schedule.

What are the drawbacks of rolling your 401(k) into an IRA?

However, come August, some recipients might have to deal with an odd payment schedule, similar to that of May’s.

July Social Security payment schedule

If you need to know when you’ll receive your Social Security benefits check in July, you can check the Social Security Administration’s retirement benefit schedule online for this year and 2026. Your payments are based on your birth date, which has the following breakdown for July:

  • Wednesday, July 9: Birth dates between the 1st and the 10th

  • Wednesday, July 16: Birth dates between the 11th and 20th

  • Wednesday, July 23: Birth dates between the 21st and 31st

If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you will receive your regular payment on July 1. However, similar to May, in August, SSI recipients will receive two payments: one on August 1 and one on August 29. This means that there will technically be no SSI payments in September.

The remainder of 2025’s SSI schedule is:

  • Friday, August 1

  • Friday, August 29

  • Wednesday, October 1

  • Friday, October 31

  • Monday, December 1

  • Wednesday, December 31

If you think you are missing a Social Security benefit or SSI payment, you should first contact your bank to make sure they can’t see any delayed payments. If they can’t, then you should contact the agency at 1-800-772-1213 or go to your local Social Security office.
