If you were among the many Bravo fans minding their own business this weekend only to be ATTACKED by The Real Housewives of New York City’s “cancellation,” and then experience pop cultural whiplash due to reports that it’s not canceled…we have some updates.
People this post is for: everyone wanting to find out what, for the love of god, is going on but are also too lazy to do too much digging. Honestly me on any given day except today, when I spent my time assembling literally everything we know about RHONY’s status.
First, Page Six Announced RHONY Had Been Canceled
To quote the outlet: “It’s a milestone moment for Bravo: one of its flagship shows, The Real Housewives New York City, is going off the air, Page Six has learned—with no firm plans for its return.
An insider also said there are “hopes” to “reconfigure” the show, explaining, “We’re trying to figure that show out. We want to figure it out. We think there’s still life in it.”
They added that Bravo execs plan to bring the show back “in some form” but definitely not with all of the current cast.
The Internet Went Into Mourning
Mostly I’m talking about myself and Countess Luann.

And Julia Fox Spilled That Bravo Interviewed Her
Amid unsubstantiated rumors that Summer House star Lindsay Hubbard had been “test filming.”
What’s going on with #RHONY?
Page Six says it’s paused, but Bravo denied it, unlike when they confirmed pauses for Miami, Dallas, & Dubai.
Meanwhile, *allegedly* Lindsay Hubbard has been test filming, and Julia Fox confirmed she interviewed. Filming *allegedly* might start late… pic.twitter.com/GmmvdS4vhy

But Then Us Weekly Announced RHONY Isn’t Canceled
They spoke to a Bravo spokesperson who said, “Nothing is official. The show hasn’t been canceled.”
And also spoke to a source who said, “Final decisions haven’t been made, and they are seeing if they can find a solution. The network and producers have been debating whether or not to bring it back.”
This insider then confirmed that no one has been offered a contract yet.

But the Daily Mail Said They’re “Reeling”
“They know the show has had issues, but they felt like they were really starting to mesh as a group, so they’re all pretty upset by the delays,” a source said. “The ratings were improving too, so they thought that would guarantee them a renewal by now.”
And Now? Now Andy Cohen Has Weighed In
The man himself shut down reports of the cancellation, commenting on The Cut’s Instagram, “This is a cute story except it’s not cancelled.”

I mean…this isn’t exactly a confirmation that the whole cast is coming back for another season, but we’ll take it. And will update this with more info as it drops!
