What is the Met Gala 2025 theme?
The theme for this year coincides with the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s spring exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
Inspired by Monica L. Miller’s seminal work from 2009, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the gala and its accompanying exhibition aim to explore the profound impact of Black dandyism on fashion. Furthermore, it will examine the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora.
Notably, this is the first Costume Institute exhibition to focus on menswear since 2003’s “Men in Skirts.”

Guiding the evening are co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James serving as honorary chair.
This year’s Met Gala will also have a host committee, made up of André 3000, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Jordan Casteel, Dapper Dan, Doechii, Ayo Edebiri, Edward Enninful, Jeremy O.
