Dr. Ted Richardson on Beyond the Gates looks different these days as the CBS soap has its first casting shake-up.
Maurice Johnson is out, as Keith D. Robinson replaces him on the new daytime drama.
Robinson took over the role of Ted on May 15 with a voice-over announcing the news.
Although the switch-up was reported in March, Beyond the Gates fans were still taken aback by Ted’s new face.
Fans have been buzzing about the change, wondering what happened, especially since Johnson was beloved in the role.
While no official word has been revealed regarding why the casting shocker occurred, there is no bad blood between Johnson and Beyond the Gates.
After the recast news broke in March, Johnson took to social media to shut down rumors of backstage drama, revealing how many episodes he has left as Ted while showing his love for Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole) and Trisha Mann-Grant (Leslie).
