Authorities say the male suspect and two others abandoned their vehicle and scattered on foot through the residential neighborhood. In a bizarre attempt to blend in, one man reportedly stripped down to his boxer shorts, jumped into a nearby pool, and even watered plants.
As the situation unfolded, Lauren allegedly stepped outside her home with a firearm. Police claim she was ordered multiple times to drop the weapon but instead pointed it at officers, prompting them to open fire.
According to CBS News, Lauren told officers she believed she was defending her property from the suspect running through the neighborhood. Police confirmed she had no involvement in the initial crash but have since recovered a 9mm handgun from her residence as part of their investigation.

Weezer Bassist’s Wife Battles Cancer

The incident comes just weeks after Lauren shared on Instagram that she was undergoing treatment for cancer.
