NEED TO KNOW

  • Part 1 of Wednesday season 2 premiered on Netflix on Aug. 6

  • The next four episodes will be released on Sept. 3

  • Part 2 will feature a surprise return from Gwendoline Christie and introduce Lady Gaga’s character

Sharpen your wits — Wednesday season 2, part 2 promises a frightfully fun ride.

The first part of Wednesday’s sophomore season (episodes 1-4) premiered on Aug. 6. But fans will have to wait a little longer for the second part, as episodes 5-8 will arrive on Netflix on Sept. 3.

Season 2 opens with Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) returning to the eerie halls of Nevermore. A wave of grisly incidents — sparked by mysterious newcomers with hidden agendas — pulls her back into danger. As long-buried Addams family secrets rise to the surface, Wednesday once again finds herself in the role of reluctant detective.

“Nothing is what it seems in season 2,” co-creator Miles Millar told Netflix’s Tudum in July 2025. “Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly. But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting.”

He continued, “She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn’t.”

The newly released trailer for Wednesday season 2, part 2, which dropped on Aug. 14, delivers two big reveals: the unexpected return of Gwendoline Christie as Principal Weems and the first tease of Lady Gaga in her mysterious guest role.

Here’s everything to know about Wednesday season 2, part 2.

Warning: Wednesday season 2, part 1 spoilers ahead!

When does Wednesday season 2, part 2 premiere?

Wednesday season 2, part 2 premieres on Sept. 3 on Netflix. The final four episodes will be released at 3 a.m. ET.

Ahead of the season 2 premiere on Aug. 6, Ortega and director Tim Burton announced that Wednesday has already been renewed for a third season — and that the show’s creators were eyeing a potential spinoff series.

“It’s something we’re definitely noodling; there are other characters we can look at,” Wednesday co-creator Alfred Gough told The Hollywood Reporter in July 2025.

Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s chief content officer, echoed, “There’s a lot to explore in the Addams Family.”

What will Wednesday season 2, part 2 about?

Part 2 picks up after Wednesday is thrown from a window by Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan). She wakes up in a hospital, visibly battered but very much alive.

While in the recovery wing, she is visited by Larissa Weems (Christie), Nevermore’s former principal. Weems, who died in season 1, appears as a spirit guide, offering cryptic counsel and urging Wednesday to take action against mounting threats.

Meanwhile, the consequences of Wednesday’s actions in part 1 are coming to a head. By freeing the dangerous Outcasts from the LOIS (Long-Term Outcast Integration Study), she’s unleashed chaos. Wednesday and her allies must contend with these unstable beings and a dangerously unhinged Tyler, who poses an escalating threat, especially to Enid (Emma Myers).

The final four episodes are also expected to delve into whether Wednesday’s psychic abilities can be restored after she had a vision of Enid’s death.

Which new cast members will appear in Wednesday season 2, part 2?

Is there a trailer for Wednesday season 2, part 2?

The first official trailer for Wednesday season 2, part 2 premiered on Aug. 14.

The nearly two-minute teaser opens with Wednesday regaining consciousness in a hospital bed, where she’s greeted by Weems.

“I am your new spirit guide. Surprise!” Weems tells a confused Wednesday, who soon finds herself confronting escalating threats — including a still-free Tyler Galpin — as well as growing family strain.

She demands answers from her parents, Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán), cautioning them that “a life hangs in the balance.”

The trailer ends with a chilling voiceover from Lady Gaga’s character, Rosaline Rotwood, who tells viewers, “Beware. There will be a price to pay.”
