(The Center Square) – In today’s edition of Illinois in Focus Daily, The Center Square Associate Editor Greg Bishop share comments he received asking Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle about the ongoing U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit against the state’s migrant sanctuary policies.
Bishop also reviews some of the conversations had around Illinois’ transit agencies facing a budget shortfall of more than $700 million and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson urging for higher taxes to help The Windy City.
Finally, Bishop looks at some of the measures the Illinois Senate and House are advancing touching on individuals convicted of felonies when they were under 21, banning polystyrene single use food containers and even a task force to investigate migration due to climate change.
