Watch Ashley Confront Vince After His Shocking Nominations in ‘Big Brother 27’ Sneak Peek originally appeared on Parade.
In the first week of Big Brother, anybody can become a target for any small reason. With so many possibilities of houseguests to nominate, the Head of Household is often looking for the easiest logic to put somebody on the block. It seems that Vince Panaro, the first HoH of Big Brother 27, however, may be playing with fire (or, in this case, a lot of shower water).
The first night of the season, a group of four houseguests who played for the coveted seat of power, including Vince and Ashley Hollis, promised to protect one another. And while Vince had every intention of honoring that promise going into his HoH reign, things got complicated hours into it. Upon Vince’s HoH room opening up, Ashley elected to take a shower in his bathroom. And, while we don’t know exactly how long she was in there, it was enough time for the other houseguests to notice, calling her rude for keeping Vince awake.

In the subsequent days, Ashley got tipped off a couple of times that people were spreading her name around as a possible target, accusing her of committing a social faux pas with “Showergate.” Growing worried, the lawyer then tried to chat with Vince multiple times to set the record straight. However, she was met with the least ideal response, as he put her up on the block. In his nomination speech, he said she was the most paranoid person in the house. And the comment prompted an emotional reaction that spilled over into the nomination ceremony aftermath.
In the sneak peek of tonight’s 90-minute episode above, Ashley immediately confronts Vince, asking him, “Why’d you lie?” and bringing up his promise. The two then talk in private, as she reveals that she is completely shocked by her nomination. Vince tries to explain his logic, feeling she came across like she couldn’t trust him. But Ashley expresses she felt quite the opposite, beginning to cry while continuing to express her confusion.
“I was like, ‘If I’m gonna nominate you, at any point, I’d rather put you up up front so you can compete,” Vince reasons.
“I’m not winning these f–king competitions!” Ashley replies glibly.

To try to help her out of her emotional breakdown, Vince attempts to motivate his nominee. Not only can she compete, he says, she can win.
“You can win HoH next week, and you can put me on the block!” he says.
“I will!” she quickly responds, stunning Vince into brief silence.
When that tactic doesn’t work, Vince tries something else. He floats out an offer: If he won the Veto, and used it on Ashley, would that earn her trust back? She immediately replies yes, indicating a possible backdoor plan could now be in play. But, in private, Vince reveals another side.
“Look, would I use the Veto on Ashley if I actually won?” he asks rhetorically in the Diary Room. “No, why would I do that? But she’s emotional and she’s upset.”
And, for what it’s worth, Ashley’s not buying the pitch either. She says in her own Diary Room session, “I think he’s a crock of s–t!”
It seems like the tension, however, is not just reserved for the HoH and his nominees. A brief teaser also indicates, despite being well after the Fourth of July, fireworks are coming in the first Veto meeting. While only a short clip, we do get a moment of Jimmy Heagerty standing up, interrupting the proceedings, saying, “Before we get up, I want to say something really quick.” For those of you who watched the Big Brother live feeds on Monday, you know exactly who he plans on calling out, and how he wants to do it.
