Saturday Night Live’sfiftieth seasonhas had its share of wacky or “out there” sketches, and this week’s episode (hosted by The White Lotus star Walton Goggins) brought more than a few new ones into the fold. One of the more notable sketches of the night was a musical sketch featuring repertory-hopeful Jane Wickline, who has had a successful string of comedic ditties on Weekend Update. This sketch gives us a glimpse of what her songwriting looks like when given the full-production treatment, and is perhaps a test run of how she might fit into the show should she be promoted from featured player.

The song is capital “S” Silly, and follows the story of a woman (Wickline) who finds a lone baby’s shoe at the zoo and becomes obsessed with finding the kid it belongs to. She starts fantasizing about who the baby will be, and after a Cinderella-esque quest, it more or less morphs into a song about how she’s going to kidnap the kid — but like, in a sweet way? Spoiler alert, there is no baby. The tiny shoe belongs to Walton Goggins’ character, who has teensy baby feet, and it completely ruins Wickline’s fantasy. Again, it is SILLY.
Towards the end of the sketch, as Jane and Walton are going back and forth about what should happen now that the owner of the shoe has been found, they are interrupted by a balloon artist, played by Goggins’ real-life bestieSam Rockwell! It seems like Rockwell showing up in a cameo during the most recent season of The White Lotus just wasn’t enough, and the two pals needed to reunite again on the world’s biggest comedy stage. His bit in the scene is not very long, but it does add another element of insanity to it, which we’ll let you discover for yourself.

For as weird as the sketch was, it was at least memorable, and everyone seemed to be having the time of their lives. What more can you ask for?
