Hosted by the Newport Beach Film Festival, the annual impact list, which identifies notable up-and-coming actors, is seeking submissions for 2025.

Variety Announces 10 Actors to Watch for 2023
Past honorees include Monica Barbaro (“A Complete Unknown”), Drew Starkey (“Queer”), Charles Melton (“May December”), Dominic Sessa (“The Holdovers”), Amber Midthunder (“Prey”) and Sam Nivola (“White Noise”).
As the entertainment industry’s publication of record, Variety seeks to highlight creatives who are making waves across a spectrum of disciplines. Like similar lists for directors, screenwriters, producers and animators, Actors to Watch looks at recent, current and upcoming work from rising actors.
The honorees will be profiled in the Oct. 15 issue of Variety and feted at a special brunch during the festival. “We are incredibly proud to once again partner with Variety to present their exceptional 10 Actors to Watch program at the Newport Beach Film Festival,” says Gregg Schwenk, CEO and executive director of NBFF. “It’s always a thrill to welcome the remarkable talent that Variety brings together, and we look forward to celebrating their extraordinary accomplishments and bright futures.”
