Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson is not banned from UNC’s football facilities despite a report from ESPN’s Pablo Torre, the school said on Friday, May 9.
In the statement, obtained by PEOPLE, UNC said there have been “false reports about Jordon Hudson’s role.”
“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities.”
They also stated that Hudson, 24, will continue to function as a publicist for Belichick, 73.
“Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”
A report from Torre on his podcast earlier Friday morning said that “higher-ups” at the university decided last week that Hudson is not allowed inside the football building or on the football field at the university.
Two sources provided the information to Torre, he said on Pablo Torre Finds Out. “Don’t think you’ll be hearing much from Jordon moving forward,” one source reportedly told the broadcaster.
Torre went on to discuss concern from Belichick’s family regarding Hudson. “Bill Belichick’s family is extraordinarily concerned about what has transpired,” Torre said. “One Belichick family source told me, ‘There is deep worry for how detrimental Jordon can be for not just North Carolina but Bill’s legacy, reputation — everything he has built and worked for over decades.’ ”

Hudson and Belichick have been laying low since the coach’s controversial interview on CBS Sunday Morning on April 27. The couple made headlines when Hudson, acting as Belichick’s publicist, interjected to shut down a question about how they met.

The topic quickly became a source of rumors and speculation before Belichick issued a statement defending Hudson. Belichick’s statement said that he’d asked that the interview “focus solely on the contents of the book” while also shutting down claims that “Jordon was attempting to control the conversation.”
“She was not deflecting any specific question or topic but simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track,” he said. “Some of the clips make it appear as though we were avoiding the question of how we met, but we have been open about the fact that Jordon and I met on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021.”
