On Saturday, musical artist Tyla was presented with the Impact Award at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music ceremony. For the event, the star stunned in a black see-through knit dress by Jean Paul Gaultier. The gown featured a high neckline, long sleeves, and a long train that fell behind her on the red carpet. The knit pattern revealed her black underwear underneath, and the material fell decoratively around her wrists.
The star wore her hair up on top of her head in loose tendrils over her braids. Tyla had on a natural makeup palette, and wore a few silver rings for accessories. She also sported a long yellow manicure.
In an interview with Billboard on the red carpet, Tyla was asked how she felt about receiving the Impact Award and knowing she had an “impact” on fans and other artists.
“It feels amazing not a lot of people get recognized so I’m really lucky and grateful to be here and I’m grateful for the people who impacted me in my career and my life and who got me here,” she shared. “Just happy to be here to celebrate the other honorees. We also look hot, we look hot.”
When asked who it was most important to her to have an impact on, Tyla replied, “Any form of impact is a blessing, you know I just want to be able to inspire as many people as I can, wherever they are. Anyone who sees anything in me that reminds them of themselves—it’s a blessing.”
As for who has impacted her, she answered, “My mother, I’ll be speaking about her today. Definitely my mother.”
Later, Tyla changed into a different look for her performance of “Push to Start,” wearing a black two-piece over a yellow lace bra.
During her acceptance speech, Tyla said, “You never know how something you say or do—a lyric, a performance—might ignite in someone else, and what they, in turn, will pass forward to another person. So I feel very lucky—for my fans, my Tygers, who have given me such an exciting life, allowing me to share and grow into all the different versions of myself as an artist and as a woman.”
