Robert Pattinson, 39, made an appearance on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for the debut of his new movie Die, My Love.
The film, which stars Pattison and Jennifer Lawrence, tells the story of a woman suffering from a struggling marriage, postpartum depression, and psychosis.
On the red carpet, Pattison spoke on his own experience with parenthood, speaking about his one-year-old daughter.
Pattinson and his partner, singer Suki Waterhouse, welcomed their first child in March of 2024.
“I think, in the most unexpected ways, having a baby gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration afterward,” Pattison said in an interview with Bazaar. “It’s a different kind of energy.”
Pattinson and Lawrence, who also has children, reflected on the influence parenthood has had not only on their personal lives but their work.
“Ever since [my daughter] was born, it’s reinvigorated the way I approach work, and yeah, you’re a completely different person the next day,” said the Twilight actor.
Pattinson and Waterhouse are pretty private about their family, keeping their daughter’s name and image out of the public eye.
Die, My Love debuted at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17 and will be released June 6.
